72 “Dear Santa” covers the US Postal Service’s “Operation Santa” 100th anniversary program. Hundreds of thousands of letters to Santa arrive each year at post offices across the country. Thanks to Operation Santa, the US Postal Service made it possible for the public to receive these letters safely and make children’s dreams come true. The film invites the audience along with the magic of this mass activity. Traveling around the country, as Santa did on Christmas Eve, focuses on individual Santa operations centers: some in metropolitan areas, such as large-scale operations in New York and others in small towns where the post office is the heart of the community.
Poor Robber and his partner represent Santa Claus and His Little Helper at the convenience store on Christmas Eve. But they get into trouble when a con artist befriends a problem child.
